Steve Green For
Williamson County Circuit Judge

I have the legal training and experience of 26 years in a variety of areas of the law. I have represented corporations, cities, villages, water districts and Housing Authorities with all of their many issues. I've helped people adopt children, I have helped people with divorces, family matters, contract disputes, business dissolutions, business creation, personal injuries, employment issues, finalizing Estates, property disputes, disputes with their insurance companies. I have defended individuals in criminal matters and I have prosecuted individuals for Ordinance violations.

I have been a mediator for both the First Judicial Circuit and the Second Judicial Circuit. This experience has allowed me to see both sides of an issue and help individuals reach a just resolution between them.

To me, being a Judge is not just knowing the law; it is applying the law based upon the life circumstances of those who seek Justice. My life experiences, I believe, would make me a Judge who can weigh the law and apply it to individual life circumstances with an understanding of the gravity that any decision I would make would affect that person for his or her life.

If I’m elected, I plan on focusing efforts to get Southern Illinois a working veterans court, work with the state and local bar to ensure access to the justice system for those with limited means, and promote diversion programs for those with mental health issues. Southern Illinois deserves a judge with experience in the legal system; someone who has experienced all sides of the law, and someone who can be a fair assessor of any situation to provide justice for all involved.
